The Power of Awareness: An Introduction to Mindfulness
Mindfulness is a buzzword these days. But what is it, really?
In this four-week course, you will experience the transformative power of mindful awareness, learn valuable mindfulness skills and tools, and develop a regular meditation practice that works for you. We will explore the basics and benefits of mindfulness and the importance of integrating lovingkindness and compassion (including self-compassion) in mindfulness practice. Together, we will practice mindfulness of breath, body, feelings, and thoughts. You’ll learn strategies to awaken to mindfulness and compassion when you’re in the thick of difficulty and dramatically shift the experience of your life, the people in it, and the world itself.
Susan Meyer has been practicing mindfulness meditation for more than 25 years. She is a graduate of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program, has gone on silent vipassana retreats, and has received mindfulness meditation teacher training with Tara Brach and Jack Kornfield.
